What is U Community Solar?
The University of Utah is committed to finding clean, sustainable ways to power our future. As an EPA Green Power Partner, the University purchases almost a billion kilowatt-hours of green power each year which offsets over 30% of campus electricity use and demonstrates a commitment to clean power and the environment. In 2014, the University of Utah helped nearly 400 members of the campus community to install solar. Now, we're bringing U Community Solar back to once again help you access discount pricing for solar installations!
Installing solar can seem time consuming and confusing, so U Community Solar guides you through the logistical and financial hurdles of going solar, making solar simple and more affordable.
As an added bonus, when you participate you can help the University of Utah reduce its carbon footprint by donating your Renewable Energy Certificates (or RECs). Sponsoring U Community Solar is a local, tangible way for the University of Utah to demonstrate its commitment to local clean energy.
U Community Solar is open to members of the campus community in Salt Lake, Summit, and Davis Counties on a first-come, first-served basis until all available program capacity is full.
